Tasting Notes

WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES
Dark in colour with a copper hue at the edges, this wine is very complex and full. The nose displays dark berry fruits, dark chocolate and cassis. The palate is rich in flavours of blackberry, black cherry, plum, chocolate and raisin with nutty characteristics. The finish has a touch of cedar spice and coffee notes with good depth. The sweetness is balanced by the alcohol, and the acids are soft and rich.

FOOD PAIRINGS
This wine is perfect for sipping after dinner or paired with food that is equal in weight. Dark chocolate, Stilton Blue Cheese or foie gras are excellent pairings. For something unique, try pairing the Tawny Port with smokey game meats, roasted nuts or hearty meat dishes with raspberry or cherry reductions.
