Tasting Notes

The Cortonesi family has owned La Mannella farm in Montalcino for many decades and are devoted to the production of Brunello di Montalcino.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is the uber-famous appellation of Montalcino, a small and beautiful medieval town situated on the top of a hill in the Tuscan countryside. This iconic wine has been made since the late 1800's exclusively with Sangiovese, a grape that is native to Tuscany. Brunellos have this special power-finesse combination, backed with deeply flavoured aromas of leather, tobacco, chocolate and balsamic yet fresh nuances.

Brunello is a great wine to cellar, as its deep concentration will continue to evolve in the bottle for several years, softening the tannins and developing a special complexity.
