Tasting Notes

Produced exclusively from Sangiovese grapes grown in selected vineyards in the Grancia and Magliano districts of Tuscany. Light pressing and controlled fermentation ensure that the fruit expresses its bouquet and tannic structure to the full. After alcohol fermentation, the wine is placed in one or two year old Alliers and Tronçais barriques where it is left to mature for 15 - 18 months, depending on the vintage. It is then bottle aged before release after a total of 26 months after production. The result is an aristocratic wine of great structure, supple and elegant, suitable for further ageing. This intensely colored wine has bright tones, a generous finish and a bouquet with fruity notes recalling red and black berry flavours and a pleasant spicy aroma. It is a balance between traditional fullness, body and refinement and modern fruity taste and tannic softness.
