Tasting Notes

Located on the La Cava Estate, Villa Riccardi Toscanelli is a monumental building of considerable historical, natural and architectural value. It dates back to 1566 with the first records describing a “simple dwelling with a vegetable garden and vineyard”. The farm belonged to the noble family of the Riccardi marquises who in the second half of the 17th century transformed the central building into a mansion.

In the second half of the 18th century, the building was redesigned with a continuous line of portals, balconies, portals, coats of arms and pediments on the facade. In 1797 the property passed into the hands of Antonio Toscanelli, a Cavalier of the Order of Saint Stephen, who decided to move here from Lugano. New farms were added to the property, the estate was enlarged and new vines and olive trees were planted.

TASTING NOTE

Ruby red with light violet highlights. Pleasant aromas of red fruits complemented by floral and spice notes. On the palate the wine is soft and smooth with medium tannins and flavours of red fruits and spice. The finish is pleasant with a hint of liquorice and balsamic on the end.
