Tasting Notes

The tempranillo grapes for the Gran Reserva were selected from vineyards on different plots in the Peñafiel and Curiel valley at an altitude of 750 metres comprised of sandy soils with siliceous stone and plots from around the village of Fompedraza on limestone with an altitude of 910m. The wine was aged 24 months in French and American oak barrels.

Aromas of leather, candied black fruit and licorice give way to ripe black jammy fruits on the palate with dried herbs and cured meat. The smooth, silky tannins are super ripe which complement the lush fruit that is rich without being overly opulent.
