Tasting Notes

Intense and complex aroma with notes of ripe red fruits, spices, vanilla, and forest floor. Warm and harmonious in the mouth, with soft and elegant tannins and nice freshness.

PAIRING: Suggestions include slow-roasted or braised red meats and/or game, hearty casseroles, root vegetables, mushrooms, truffle-flavored dishes, ravioli, and aged cheeses.

Barbaresco is sometimes referred to as “the younger brother” of its more robust, tannic neighbor Barolo, known as “the king of wines.” However, Barbaresco is noble and notable in its own right, with its own distinct appellation, history, and hilltop villages.

Critical Praise

In 2009, the multigenerational Rocca winemaking family, with its roots in Puglia, joined forces with the Dezzani winemaking family of Piemonte. Founded in 1934, the latter has access to some of the best vineyards in Langhe and Monferrato.

ORIGIN: Langhe, Piemonte region, northern Italy.

AGING: Aged in large oak barrels for 3 years.

ALCOHOL: 14%.

This elegant and complex wine has great cellaring potential. For storage, it is recommended that the bottles be laid down in a cool, airy place, protected from all sources of light and far from noises and vibrations.
