Tasting Notes

Intense and complex aroma with notes of ripe red fruits, spices, vanilla, and forest floor. Warm and harmonious in the mouth, with soft and elegant tannins and nice freshness.

ORIGIN: Langhe, Piemonte region, northern Italy.

AGING: Aged in large oak barrels for 3 years.

ALCOHOL: 14%.

PAIRING: Suggestions include slow-roasted or braised red meats and/or game, hearty casseroles, root vegetables, mushrooms, truffle-flavored dishes, ravioli, and aged cheeses.

THE STORY BEHIND THIS WINE:
Barbaresco is sometimes referred to as “the younger brother” of its more robust, tannic neighbor Barolo, known as “the king of wines.” However, Barbaresco is noble and notable in its own right, with its own distinct appellation, history, and hilltop villages.

This Barbaresco is brought to you by the Rocca multigenerational winemaking family, with its roots in Puglia. In 2009, they joined forces with the Dezzani winemaking family of Piemonte. Founded in 1934, Dezzani has access to some of the best vineyards in Monferrato and in Langhe, where the Barbaresco apellation is situated.

The motto of the Rocca winemaking family is: “Five generations, one passion, great Italian wines!”
