Tasting Notes

Balance and elegance are the characteristics that define this intense Argentine Malbec. Aromas of red fruits such as cherries and strawberries, as well as dark fruits like blackberries, mingle with tobacco, mint and chocolate. The palate is juicy and concentrated, with sweet and velvety tannins.

PAIRING SUGGESTIONS: Excellent pairings include steak and any grilled red meat; burgers with cheese including blue cheese; red meat empanadas; mixed grill (beef, sausage, etc.); roasted lamb; pasta with tomato and beef sauce; pizza with a variety of hearty toppings; and Cajun spiced pumpkin stew.

Critical Praise

Bodega Sottano’s vineyards are located in the premier areas for growing high-end grapes in the Mendoza wine region. The winery’s history stretches back to its founding by a hardworking Italian immigrant winemaker in the 1890s.

Reserva de Familia closely follows in the footsteps of the magnificent Judas Malbec, which is not available in Ontario this year.

AGING: 14−18 months in new oak barrels (70% French, 20% American, 10% Hungarian).
