Tasting Notes

50% Trebbiano and Malvasia Toscani, 35% Pinot Blanc and Pinot Grigio, 15% Rhine Riesling
Villa Antinori Bianco was produced for the first time in the 1931 vintage; the label, ever since, has remained virtually unaltered, as has the production philosophy, based as it is on the desire to bring out to the maximum the Tuscan character of the wine. Grapes for Villa Antinori Bianco come from selected vineyards in central Tuscany, including the Monteloro estate, which is particularly well suited to aromatic varieties. The grapes were destemmed and very lightly pressed. The must was cooled to 10°C to encourage natural clarification, and then transferred into stainless steel vats where alcoholic fermentation took place at controlled temperatures up to 18°C. The wine remained in stainless steel vats at 10°C to maintain the fragrance until bottling. Straw yellow in color, the wine shows a floral and elegant nose of much finesse and notes of acacia flowers and jasmine. On the palate it is supple and tasty with a fine persistence and a finish and aftertaste which recall yellow fruit.
The Villa Antinori Bianco is a wonderful accompaniment to fish and white meat, poultry and veal with white sauce.
